After 11 matches without winning, Crystal Palace sacked Vieira

Crystal Palace has not won its last 11 league matches and is 12th, 3 points above the relegation zone.

Vieira’s dismissal came after losing 1-0 from Brighton last Wednesday, the third in a row in the league.

“It is with great regret that this decision has been made,” club chairman Steve Parish said in a statement.

Palace has not won any league matches this year (11 consecutive matches) and is three points away from the relegation zone.

Parish added: “Results in recent months put us in a precarious position in the league and we felt the need to change in order to have the best chance of staying in the Premier League.”
