Oscar Predictions Smackdown: Deadline, Gold Derby, IndieWire & Variety’s Top Experts Weigh In On The Final Ballot
This is it. We are finally entering the final stretch of an eight-month Oscar season as the Academy Awards take place Sunday. As a final bid to help you in your Oscar pools, Gold Derby’s Tom O’Neil, IndieWire’s savvy Anne Thompson, Variety’s veteran and respected prognosticator Tim Gray, and me, all from PMC brands, joined together for a final Oscar Smackdown in which we each take shots in discussing just which way the winds are blowing as ballots are now in.
Will Nomadland pull off a wire-to-wire triumph as the season’s unquestioned frontrunner? Who will emerge victorious from one of the closest Best Actress races in Oscar history? Can the late Chadwick Boseman still win even as the Best Actor race becomes a little more unpredictable? Do Minari’s Yuh-Jung Youn and Judas and the Black Messiah’s Daniel Kaluuya have the Supporting prizes in the bag? And exactly what will this most unique of Oscar shows look like, and who will be watching?
These are just some of the questions asked and answered as we wrap up the season. To watch, click on the video above.
