United’s 10th successive win in all competitions looked assured thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ goal just before halftime, but Michael Olissi equalized for the hosts with a stunning free kick.

There was talk this week about British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe’s offer to take over the most crowned club in England, in order to restore its glories.

Whatever happens off the field, Manchester United were in fantastic shape by beating neighbors Manchester City at the weekend.

Coach Erik ten Hag gave striker Vaut Figurst his first appearance with the team after moving on loan, but it was a familiar face that gave the team progress.

It seemed an even first half was on its way to ending in a draw until Christian Eriksen passed a ball to Fernandez, who fired hard into the net.

United dominated the second half, but were conceded by a wonderful free kick from Olissi in the goal of David De Gea.

United raised its score to 39 points in third place, behind by goals from City, who hosts fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, while Arsenal leads the competition and has 47 points out of 18 games.
